Not Boring Supports was founded by Glen and Carmela Baxter — a husband-and-wife team who believed there was a better way to support people to live meaningful, connected and independent lives.
What started as a simple idea has grown into a thriving community built on genuine relationships, real-world experiences and opportunities that help people build confidence, develop skills and achieve their goals.
Our connection to disability is personal. Through lived experience, we understand that true progress doesn't come from simply providing support — it comes from creating opportunities. Opportunities to build confidence, develop independence, form meaningful connections and discover what's possible.
Today, Not Boring Supports is more than a Registered NDIS Provider. We're a community where people are encouraged to try new things, learn new skills, build meaningful relationships and feel a genuine sense of belonging.
Carmela brings over 20 years of hospitality experience, a passion for innovation and a vision for creating inclusive spaces where people can learn, grow and thrive. Her leadership has helped shape initiatives such as The Not Boring Kitchen — a unique environment where confidence, skills and community come together.
Glen brings lived experience, resilience and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities people with disability can face. His perspective continues to shape the way we approach peer mentoring, community participation and building pathways to greater independence.

Carmela Baxter is the Founder and CEO of Not Boring Supports, bringing over 20 years of hospitality experience and a passion for creating opportunities for people to learn, grow and thrive.
Throughout her career, Carmela has received recognition within the business and community sectors for her leadership, innovation and commitment to creating positive social impact.
Known for her hands-on leadership and ability to bring people together, Carmela is committed to building environments where people feel connected, valued and empowered to achieve their goals.
Her focus is simple: creating meaningful opportunities, building strong communities and doing support differently.

Glen Baxter - Peer Mentor and Community Champion
Standing alongside Carmela, Glen Baxter brings lived experience, resilience, and a grounded perspective to Not Boring Supports.
Having navigated vision impairment firsthand, Glen understands the importance of access, inclusion, and doing things properly — not just in theory, but in everyday life. His experience continues to shape how support is delivered across the business.
Glen plays a key role in keeping Not Boring real. His focus on equality, consistency, and genuine connection helps ensure the work being done actually reflects what people need.
Outside of the business, Glen is a passionate athlete, competing in cycling, archery, and air rifle shooting — a reflection of his belief that limitations don’t define what’s possible.
His presence within Not Boring isn’t just part of the story — it’s part of the foundation.

Vanessa is our Office Manager and is the person keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. You'll usually find her at HQ behind the computer, answering calls, managing administration, and making sure the day-to-day operations of the organisation stay on track. Vanessa is often the first point of contact for participants, families, and stakeholders, and is always happy to help.

She enjoys working alongside participants and helping create a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone.
