Let me introduce you to Glen, an extraordinary individual who has demonstrated remarkable resilience in the face of challenges. Diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) in 1995, Glen experienced a gradual loss of vision over the course of eight years, eventually becoming legally blind. However, instead of allowing his vision impairment to limit him, Glen saw it as an invitation to embark on a journey of exploration and personal growth. With unwavering determination, he embraced new possibilities and pushed the boundaries of what he could achieve.

In 2011, Glen ventured into tandem cycling, participating in the Brisbane BMW Ride For Life fundraising event. This marked the beginning of a journey filled with various events and competitions, all made possible with the support of the NDIS. Glen's love for cycling grew, providing him with an active and social outlet that he thoroughly enjoyed.

Not content with just cycling, Glen expanded his horizons further. In 2015, he embraced Indoor Target Rifle Shooting, quickly establishing himself as one of Brisbane's top shooters. Despite initial skepticism from the shooting industry, Glen's talent and dedication earned him numerous medals and awards. He shattered stereotypes, proving that vision impairment should never hinder one's pursuit of their passions.

Glen's thirst for new experiences continued to drive him forward. He ventured into Archery, competing in national championships and Para VI Archery Competitions. He also took on Golf, participating in events such as the Qld Open. With each endeavor, Glen showed an indomitable spirit and a refusal to let his disability hold him back.

Inspired by his own experiences and the lack of employment opportunities for vision-impaired individuals, Glen and his wife Carmela embarked on a journey in disability support. He became a passionate advocate and entrepreneur, dedicating his life to empowering others to live their best lives. Glen's remarkable "can do" attitude and unwavering belief in the potential of individuals with disabilities serve as a beacon of inspiration for others facing similar challenges.

Despite the obstacles he has encountered, Glen remains an optimistic advocate for people with disabilities. He firmly believes that everyone deserves equal opportunities and access to resources that enable them to thrive. Through his work and unwavering commitment to the disability community, Glen continues to inspire and uplift others, proving that with the right mindset and support, one can overcome any obstacle and achieve greatness.
